3rd Annual Sporting Clay Fundraising Event

The Need For Bibles is Growing

To meet these requests WFBP is holding a fund raiser to raise interest in the ministry and raise financial resources to help cover the costs of these projects.

Glue Binder Machine

The goal this year is to raise enough to purchase a new Glue Binder machine and to pay for 64,000 New Testaments which will be sent to American Missionaries in Africa.

On April 26, 2025 WFBP will host their Second annual Sporting Clay shoot at Polecat Creek Shotgun Park in Harrisonville, MO.

Any one over the age of 14 may shoot but registration is needed by April 26th.

Sporting Clay shooting consists of 12 stations with 5 shots at each to break flying clay targets that are moving randomly to simulate the hunting environment.

You can register as an individual and be partnered up with 4 other shooters to form a group of 5 shooters for each station, or you can register up to a 5 man team and you would be the team captain. If you only register between 2 and 4 shooters, then each person may be assigned a start station for any starts that have less than 5 shooters.

Additional information:

Cost: $75 per person is registered by April 16th. Shooters can also register at the course but the walk-on fee is $85 per shooter. All shooters must bring their own gun and ammo (minimum 60 rounds)

Prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place.

There is also a raffle for a new Wheatherby shotgun; Tickets are $20 or 5 tickets for $85.00. You do not have to be present to win.

How the Game is Played

Sporting clay competition is like golf… but with a shotgun. No two sporting clays stations (holes) are alike. Each station varies in terrain, background, and target flight path which has a lot to do with how targets are presented. Shooters progress through the course moving from one station to the next.

Sporting clays are the closest thing to actual field shooting of all shotgun sports. Rather than having clay birds thrown from standardized distances and angles as with skeet or trap, sporting clay courses are designed to simulate the hunting of ducks, pheasants, other upland birds, and even rabbits. Since there is no set season and it can be shot at any time, many hunters shoot sporting clays to further their wing shooting skills during the off-season. Targets may be thrown from literally any angle or distance to simulate wing shooting. Different size clay targets may be used to further give the shooter the experience of actual hunting conditions.

Sporting clays is typically shot in squads of two to five people. The most common target used in sporting clays is a round disc made of clay that is used in skeet and trap. Sporting clays also use specialty targets to introduce the illusion of speed or distance in the eye of the shooter, moving at speeds or in ways of game birds. All can be thrown as singles or pairs.

Any shotgun that’s in safe working condition, capable of firing two shots, may be used. Any gauge can be used, but the most popular are 12 and 20 gauge. Ammunition must be a designated target load of either 7.5 or 8 shot. Shooters must bring their own shotguns and at least 2 boxes of the specified ammunition.

2025 Annual Bible Conference

Mark your calendars for the week of September 17th - 21st as we host our 16th Bible Conference.

Our church building will be transformed into an assembly line where we will take sections of pages of scripture called signatures and collate them. From there, they will be transported to our rolling rooms where the signatures wll be rolled to crease the fold and improve the final product. After rolling, the Bibles will be checked to ensure they are ready to be sent to the binding room where a cover will be added. The Bibles will then move out to our Armory where the excess edges will be trimmed and the Bibles will be put into boxes to be ready to ship their final destination.
